Corporate Counsel Senior

FIS Capital Markets is hiring a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our legal organization across the United States. This is a full-time position where you'll provide strategic legal guidance to support our capital markets operations and business initiatives.

Role Overview

As Senior Corporate Counsel at FIS Capital Markets, you'll serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior leadership and business teams. You'll take ownership of complex legal matters, provide guidance on corporate strategy and risk management, and help navigate the evolving regulatory landscape that shapes capital markets and financial services. Your work will span corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic business partnerships—all critical to our success in a fast-paced financial environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Advise on corporate legal matters including contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures
• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with business objectives and market conditions
• Review and draft complex commercial agreements and corporate documents
• Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to financial services regulations
• Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel on high-stakes legal issues
• Support due diligence efforts and corporate governance initiatives
• Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters as needed

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar admission in the United States
• 8+ years of corporate legal experience, with significant experience in capital markets, financial services, or related sectors
• Demonstrated expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and business transactions
• Strong legal analysis and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
• Experience working within in-house legal teams is strongly preferred
