Consultant Psychiatrist – EDU

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a Full Time Consultant Psychiatrist - EDU based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester to deliver expert care at a major UK healthcare provider. This role places you within a specialist inpatient mental health setting serving both young people and adults.

What This Role Involves

As Consultant Psychiatrist - EDU in Cheadle, Greater Manchester you will work inside a comprehensive inpatient service offered by one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers. The post centres on high-quality psychiatric management for individuals admitted with complex needs, combining direct clinical work with leadership of the multi-disciplinary team that supports recovery for adolescents and adults alike. You will practise in a well-established hospital environment where specialist eating-disorders pathways sit alongside broader regional mental-health provision.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough psychiatric evaluations and create individualised treatment plans for patients admitted to the eating-disorders service
• Lead daily multi-disciplinary reviews and coordinate seamless care between nursing, therapy and wider hospital teams
• Deliver evidence-based psychiatric interventions tailored to the needs of young people and adults
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit cycles and service-development initiatives that raise standards across the inpatient unit
• Provide supervision and teaching to junior medical staff and allied professionals working within the mental-health hospital

Qualifications

• Current full registration with the General Medical Council and a licence to practise
• Certificate of Completion of Training in Psychiatry (or equivalent eligibility for consultant appointment)
• Demonstrable clinical experience or specialist interest in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues
• Commitment to continuing professional development and high standards of clinical governance in specialist mental-health settings
