About the Role
As a Construction Estimator at Boudreau Pipeline, you'll prepare comprehensive cost estimates for underground utility systems, pipeline installations, wet utility work, grading operations, and structural construction projects. Your estimates form the foundation of competitive bids and informed project planning across our service area in Houston and beyond.
What You'll Do
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from project plans, specifications, and site assessments
- Analyze and compile labor costs, equipment expenses, material pricing, and subcontractor rates into complete cost models
- Prepare thorough, professional bid packages that support sales efforts and project viability reviews
- Research current material pricing, vendor quotes, and equipment rental rates to ensure competitive positioning
- Coordinate with project managers, operations teams, and subcontractors to validate assumptions and refine estimates
- Track estimate accuracy against actual project performance and apply lessons learned to future bids
- Utilize estimation software and industry tools to streamline takeoff and costing workflows
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience preparing construction estimates for heavy civil, underground utility, or pipeline work
- Strong command of quantity takeoff techniques and cost analysis methodologies
