Brevard County Sheriff's Office is hiring a full-time Deputy Sheriff (Certified) in Titusville to strengthen our law enforcement team. About the Role

As a Deputy Sheriff with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, you'll be a frontline protector of our community. Working under general supervision, you'll apply considerable judgment and initiative in diverse situations, combining tactical decision-making with strong people skills to preserve life, prevent crime, and enforce both civil and criminal law across Titusville and the greater Brevard County area.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct regular patrols and respond to emergency calls and community service requests
  • Investigate criminal incidents, gather evidence, and document findings in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Execute arrests and enforce local, state, and federal statutes
  • Protect life and property, de-escalate conflicts, and maintain public order in assigned areas
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Provide testimony in court proceedings and serve legal documents
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with officers from other jurisdictions and agencies
  • Participate in community policing initiatives and crime prevention programs

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Florida Law Enforcement Certification or ability to obtain certification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation, medical examination, and psychological evaluation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical fitness and capability to perform essential job functions
  • Genuine commitment to community-oriented policing and public service
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
