About the Role As a Deputy Sheriff with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, you'll be a frontline protector of our community. Working under general supervision, you'll apply considerable judgment and initiative in diverse situations, combining tactical decision-making with strong people skills to preserve life, prevent crime, and enforce both civil and criminal law across Titusville and the greater Brevard County area. What You'll Do Conduct regular patrols and respond to emergency calls and community service requests Investigate criminal incidents, gather evidence, and document findings in compliance with all applicable laws Execute arrests and enforce local, state, and federal statutes Protect life and property, de-escalate conflicts, and maintain public order in assigned areas Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation Provide testimony in court proceedings and serve legal documents Work both independently and collaboratively with officers from other jurisdictions and agencies Participate in community policing initiatives and crime prevention programs What We're Looking For Valid Florida Law Enforcement Certification or ability to obtain certification High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation, medical examination, and psychological evaluation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Physical fitness and capability to perform essential job functions Genuine commitment to community-oriented policing and public service Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays About Brevard County Sheriff's Office The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to delivering professional law enforcement that protects public safety, reduces crime, and serves the diverse communities across Brevard County.
