About the Role
This is a company driver position running regional flatbed lanes in and around the Seymour area. With a regional footprint, drivers operate familiar corridors and spend less time away from home than over-the-road positions. Positions are available to start as soon as possible.
What You'll Do
- Operate a flatbed trailer safely along established regional routes out of Seymour, CT
- Properly secure, block, brace, and tarp freight to DOT and company standards before and during transit
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings accurately
- Maintain compliance with all federal Hours of Service regulations and state transport requirements
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding load status, delays, or route changes
- Deliver freight on schedule while representing Western Express professionally at shipper and receiver locations
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A CDL issued in the United States
- Demonstrated experience operating flatbed equipment, including proper load securement and tarping
- Clean or acceptable MVR (motor vehicle record)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
- Solid working knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations
- Strong attention to safety and professional conduct on and off the road
- Reliable, self-directed work ethic suited to regional driving schedules
