About This Position
We're looking for a dedicated female caregiver to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the life of a client in the Long Beach area. This full-time position offers flexible scheduling that works around your availability. The role focuses on delivering respectful, patient companionship and practical support for an individual living with dementia who requires both assistance and understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate companionship and supervision to ensure the client's well-being and emotional comfort
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals and assist with meal planning appropriate to the client's needs
- Maintain a safe home environment by implementing fall prevention measures and monitoring for potential hazards
- Complete light household tasks such as tidying, trash removal, and basic household maintenance
- Respond calmly and with patience to behavioral changes, including occasional confusion, hallucinations, or expressions of paranoia
- Build trust through consistent, respectful interactions that prioritize the client's dignity and independence
What We're Looking For
- Fluent Tagalog speaker (required for clear communication with the client)
- Documented experience working with dementia patients and understanding their unique care needs
- Calm, patient demeanor with the ability to respond thoughtfully to behavioral or emotional challenges
- Physical capability to assist with daily activities and support mobility as needed
- Reliable transportation and commitment to consistent, punctual care
- Genuine passion for helping others and commitment to respecting client dignity and independence
