About the Role

NV5's Building Sciences practice serves clients across California and beyond, delivering expert guidance on complex environmental health hazards. As Team Leader, you'll oversee daily operations, staff performance, and client delivery for projects involving asbestos surveys, lead paint assessment, mold investigation, and other indoor environmental quality challenges. Your leadership will shape how your team protects buildings and the people who occupy them.

What You'll Do

  • Direct and mentor a team of environmental specialists and technicians, fostering professional development and accountability
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships for building sciences assignments
  • Conduct or oversee asbestos assessments, lead-based paint inspections, and hazardous materials evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, California environmental regulations and industry standards
  • Review technical reports, field data, and remediation recommendations for accuracy and completeness
  • Develop proposals, estimate project costs, and support business development efforts
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project lifecycles

What We're Looking For

  • Proven leadership and team management experience in environmental consulting or related field
  • Deep expertise in asbestos, lead, and hazardous materials assessment and regulations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Technical knowledge of building sciences, industrial hygiene, or environmental health
  • Project management capability and client-focused mindset
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Los Angeles County and beyond
  • Relevant certifications (ASA, ACAC, or similar) are valued
