About the Role

As an Assistant Vice President for Complex Claim Liability at Travelers, you'll manage sophisticated liability claims from intake through resolution, applying specialized insurance knowledge and strategic judgment. This role combines hands-on claims management with leadership responsibilities, making you a key advisor to claims teams and external partners.

What You'll Do

• Manage complex liability claims, analyzing coverage, liability exposure, and reserve requirements
• Direct investigations, coordinate with adjusters and legal representatives, and develop strategic case approaches
• Assess policy provisions, coverage applicability, and claim documentation to address coverage issues
• Guide and mentor claims professionals to strengthen team expertise and professional development
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards throughout claim resolution
• Collaborate with claimants, counsel, and stakeholders to achieve timely, equitable claim outcomes

What We're Looking For

• Substantial experience managing complex liability claims in the insurance industry
• Expert-level knowledge of coverage analysis, policy interpretation, and insurance law
• Proven leadership ability with experience developing and mentoring claims professionals
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex claims simultaneously
• Professional designations such as ARM or AIC are preferred
• Commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical claims handling
