Role Overview

As an apprentice electrical technician, you will learn to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise the complex electrical and control systems that power Continental's manufacturing operations. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers, you'll gain practical experience in plant technology, industrial automation, and electrical safety protocols. This three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship combines on-site training at our Korbach facility with classroom instruction, preparing you for a career in industrial electrical technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and machinery on the production floor
• Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment failures using diagnostic tools and test equipment
• Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and contribute to equipment reliability programmes
• Work safely with high-voltage systems whilst adhering to strict safety regulations and Continental's quality standards
• Collaborate with technicians across different production areas to complete commissioning and maintenance tasks

What You Bring

• Completion of Hauptschule (secondary school certificate) or equivalent qualification
• Strong interest in electrical technology and industrial systems
• Solid foundation in maths and physics
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Willingness to learn continuously and adapt to new technologies
• Teamwork and communication skills, with fluency in German
