GuidePoint Security is hiring a Presales Security Architect (SecOps) for a full-time remote position based in the Northeast region. You'll serve as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through security operations transformation and architecting solutions that address their most critical cybersecurity challenges.
The Opportunity
This customer-facing technical leadership role partners you with our sales team to translate complex security operations requirements into coherent solution architectures. You'll focus on discovery, design, and positioning—building customer confidence in our approach across SIEM, SOAR, detection-as-code, and emerging security data platforms. Working with account executives and practice leadership, you'll accelerate deals by ensuring technical alignment during pre-sales engagement and lay the groundwork for successful handoffs to our delivery teams.
Candidates must be based in the Northeast region (New Jersey through Maine) with availability for up to 25% travel primarily within the region.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand customer security operations environments and translate findings into tailored architecture recommendations
- Demonstrate expertise in leading security operations platforms—including Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike Next-Gen SIEM, Tines, Torque, and Snowflake—and articulate how integrations and architectural approaches address customer needs
- Create technical diagrams and feasibility assessments that validate architectural options and differentiate GuidePoint's capabilities within competitive contexts
- Provide pre-sales technical support to the sales team, ensuring prospects gain clarity on technical requirements before formal engagement scoping
- Monitor evolving security operations technologies, industry trends, and competitive offerings to keep GuidePoint positioned as a knowledgeable advisor
- Collaborate with implementation architects to ensure seamless transitions from sales conversations to delivery execution
- Leverage emerging technologies and AI tools to enhance problem-solving efficiency and drive better business outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Genuine understanding of how security information and event management, security orchestration and automation, and detection-as-code ecosystems operate in practice
- Strong communication skills that distill complex security operations concepts into language resonating with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Natural listener and problem-solver who builds credibility quickly through thoughtful questioning and focus on customer outcomes
- Self-directed learner comfortable mastering new platforms (including cloud-based security data analytics tools) as customer needs evolve
- Background in security operations, cybersecurity consulting, or pre-sales technical roles is valued
- Success in this role depends on breadth of knowledge, communication clarity, and sound judgment—hands-on technical implementation expertise is not required
