The Opportunity

Russell McVeagh is seeking a highly motivated 2027 Law Clerk to join our litigation team based in Thorndon, Wellington, New Zealand, New Zealand. As part of the premier law firm in New Zealand, you will have the opportunity to work with an award-winning team committed to cutting-edge legal practice.

• Assist senior lawyers and support the litigation process
• Conduct thorough research and compile case files
• Prepare documents and correspondence for clients and courts
• Attend court hearings as required
• Support administrative tasks related to litigation cases

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing support to senior lawyers in the litigation team
• Conducting comprehensive legal research and compiling case files
• Preparing documents, correspondence, and pleadings for clients and courts
• Attending court hearings as required by the team
• Assisting with administrative tasks related to litigation cases

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Holds or is about to complete their LLB degree in 2027
• Has excellent research and writing skills
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Is able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Has a keen interest in litigation law and the ability to learn quickly
• Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills
