About the Role

As Corporate Counsel (Employment) at The Fresh Market, you will provide practical legal guidance on the workplace matters that keep our teams thriving. Based on-site in Greensboro, you will advise leaders across Human Resources and operations, helping the company navigate employment law confidently while staying true to a culture built on teamwork and shared success.

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel internal stakeholders on a broad range of employment and labor matters, including hiring, workplace policies, accommodations, and separations.
• Partner with Human Resources to develop, review, and refine policies that comply with federal and state regulations.
• Assess and help mitigate employment-related risk across day-to-day business decisions.
• Manage employment disputes, investigations, and any related litigation, coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
• Support training and education efforts that promote fair, consistent, and legally sound practices throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
• Demonstrated experience advising on employment and labor law, ideally within a corporate or in-house environment.
• Strong analytical judgment paired with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice.
• A team-oriented mindset, dependable follow-through, and a genuine commitment to excellence.
• Willingness to work full-time, on-site in Greensboro, Guilford County.
