What This Role Involves

As a Kaitiaki at our Whanganui village, you will play an important role in supporting the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle possible for our Care Centre residents. You’ll be part of a close-knit team focused on person-centred care and enhancing the wellbeing of every resident. This role includes a strong focus on mobility support, recreation, and mealtime care.

Your Responsibilities

• Supporting the daily needs and activities of residents in a manner that promotes their independence and dignity
• Providing assistance with mobility to ensure safety and comfort during movement throughout the facility
• Organizing and participating in recreational activities that cater to individual interests and abilities
• Ensuring mealtime care is conducted in a way that meets residents' dietary needs and preferences, promoting social interaction and enjoyment of meals

Requirements

• A compassionate and empathetic nature towards elderly individuals
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
• Basic knowledge or willingness to learn about person-centred care practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care
• Physical fitness to assist with mobility support tasks
