About This Position

Stellar Recruitment works in partnership with Glencore to fill the Mine Surveyor role at Mount Isa, Mt Isa. George Fisher Mine is recognised as one of Australia’s biggest and most advanced underground operations producing zinc, lead and silver. The position sits inside the Technical Services team, where the selected surveyor will deliver exact and prompt survey deliverables that enable continuous underground production and informed mine planning decisions. Candidates will apply their expertise daily to keep spatial data current and reliable for the entire technical and production workforce at this Mount Isa site.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate underground surveys that directly enable production sequences and development advances at George Fisher Mine
• Generate spatial measurements and datasets that feed into short-term and long-term mine planning processes
• Establish, maintain and expand survey control networks throughout the underground workings
• Produce clear survey plans, volume calculations and compliance documentation for Technical Services stakeholders
• Coordinate closely with mining crews and technical specialists so that survey information is integrated into daily operations near Mount Isa, Mt Isa

Skills & Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in mine surveying, geospatial science or a closely related discipline
• Solid practical experience performing survey duties in underground mining environments
• Competence with contemporary total stations, laser systems, software and data-processing tools used in mine survey work
• Working knowledge of underground mining methods together with applicable safety and regulatory standards
• Strong attention to detail combined with clear written and verbal communication skills suited to a technical services team
