About This Position

This AI Hardware Architect role at Nvidia in 2 Locations centers on shaping efficient, scalable silicon and system-level designs for modern AI processing. You will operate at the intersection of architecture, algorithms, and implementation, partnering across engineering groups to translate AI compute needs into practical hardware solutions. The position is full time and based in 2 Locations, offering the chance to contribute original technical direction on platforms that support training and inference at scale. Success requires both deep hardware insight and clear communication with software, design, and product stakeholders so architectural choices stay aligned with real-world artificial intelligence demands.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Define architecture specifications for AI-focused hardware blocks, accelerators, and related subsystems
  • Model performance, power, and area trade-offs using simulation and analytical techniques suited to machine learning workloads
  • Evaluate memory hierarchies, interconnect fabrics, and data movement schemes for AI compute efficiency
  • Collaborate with RTL, physical design, and software teams to refine microarchitecture and ensure implementability
  • Review emerging AI algorithms and map them onto hardware features that improve throughput and energy efficiency
  • Document architectural decisions, present trade-off analyses, and guide cross-functional alignment on hardware roadmaps
  • Contribute to validation strategies that confirm correct behavior of AI hardware architects’ design intent

What You Bring

  • Strong foundation in computer architecture, digital systems, and hardware design principles
  • Hands-on experience with AI or machine learning accelerator concepts, including dataflow and compute primitives
  • Proficiency with architecture modeling, cycle-accurate or performance simulation tools, and quantitative analysis
  • Familiarity with ASIC or SoC development flows, RTL concepts, and hardware-software co-design practices
  • Ability to reason about power, performance, and area constraints in complex silicon environments
  • Clear technical writing and presentation skills for architecture reviews and stakeholder discussions
  • Relevant degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical background suited to an AI Hardware Architect path
