Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee banquet setup, service flow, and breakdown to keep every function on schedule and aligned with client plans
• Direct servers and support staff during live events, assigning stations and coaching for smooth course pacing and attentive guest care
• Check plate presentation, table readiness, and beverage stations so each element meets quality benchmarks before doors open
• Interact with event hosts and kitchen teams to resolve last-minute adjustments while protecting the overall guest experience
• Monitor inventory of linens, china, glassware, and serving tools, alerting managers when replenishment or repairs are needed
• Verify that health, safety, and service standards remain consistent throughout every banquet shift

Who We're Looking For

• Solid prior experience leading banquet or large-scale dining service as a Banquet Captain or comparable supervisor
• Proven ability to train, motivate, and manage service teams under tight timelines and high guest volumes
• Strong working knowledge of formal banquet protocols, place settings, wine service, and multi-course presentations
• Clear communication skills and calm judgment when coordinating between guests, kitchen, and front-of-house colleagues
• Reliable attention to detail, organization, and the physical capacity to work actively throughout full event cycles
