Role Overview

The CDL A Driver position at UR centers on safe, punctual operation of commercial tractor-trailers throughout the Indianapolis metro area and nearby corridors. Working full time from the Indianapolis, IN, USA location, every driver becomes a visible ambassador of the company by delivering goods on schedule while protecting the public and company assets. Success means combining solid road craft with clear communication so routes finish on time and equipment stays road-ready. This is not a remote or hybrid arrangement; the work is performed on-site and on the highway near Indianapolis every scheduled day.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class A commercial motor vehicles on designated routes while obeying all traffic laws and posted speed limits.
• Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, document defects, and secure repairs before departure.
• Monitor and record hours of service with electronic logging devices so Department of Transportation rules stay fully satisfied.
• Secure cargo correctly, verify load weights, and adjust for road conditions to prevent shifts or damage.
• Follow dispatcher instructions, update arrival windows, and report delays or weather impacts immediately.
• Perform routine vehicle checks for fuel, tire pressure, lights, and fluid levels during each shift.
• Interact professionally with customers or receivers at pick-up and drop-off points in the Indianapolis region.
• Keep the cab clean, organized, and free of safety hazards at all times.

What You Bring

• Current and valid Class A commercial driver’s license issued in the United States.
• Clean motor-vehicle record that meets company and federal insurance standards.
• Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Familiarity with electronic logging devices, GPS routing tools, and basic load-securing techniques.
• Strong situational awareness, patience in traffic, and calm decision-making under pressure.
