Role Overview

As Automotive Shop Supervisor at City Of Griffin, you'll manage the light-duty automotive shop serving our municipal fleet. Your role combines hands-on technical knowledge with team leadership—overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, diagnostic troubleshooting, and repair operations on city vehicles and equipment. You'll ensure every task meets our safety standards and performance requirements, keeping Griffin's fleet roadworthy and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanics and automotive technicians in daily maintenance and repair operations
• Perform preventative maintenance on light-duty vehicles to maximize fleet reliability
• Diagnose mechanical problems and direct repair solutions for city vehicles and equipment
• Ensure all work meets safety regulations and municipal fleet standards
• Manage shop schedules, workload distribution, and prioritization of maintenance tasks
• Maintain equipment and tools, and oversee inventory of parts and supplies
• Track vehicle maintenance records and compliance documentation

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic with supervisory capability
• Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on light-duty vehicles
• Leadership experience managing mechanics or technical teams
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in automotive shop environments
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide technical direction
