Join University of Nevada Las Vegas as a Plumber 1 in our Facilities Management department. This full-time position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, supporting the university's infrastructure and ensuring reliable plumbing systems across our campus.

About the Role

As a Plumber 1, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing the plumbing infrastructure that keeps our university facilities running smoothly. Working within the Facilities Management team, you'll diagnose system issues, execute repairs, and ensure all plumbing work meets building codes and safety standards. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in both routine maintenance and complex system troubleshooting across a large, diverse campus environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential, academic, and administrative buildings
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency plumbing issues promptly and efficiently
• Perform preventive maintenance on water lines, drainage systems, fixtures, and related equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to plan and execute plumbing projects
• Collaborate with other trades and departments to coordinate facility upgrades and repairs
• Document work completed, materials used, and time spent on each job for accurate record-keeping
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, building regulations, and safety protocols on all assignments

What We're Looking For

• Valid plumbing license or journeyman certification (or ability to obtain one)
• Proven experience in commercial or institutional plumbing maintenance and repair
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and safety regulations
• Reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship
• Willingness to respond to urgent maintenance calls as needed
