Guitar Center is hiring a full-time Guitar Technician (Luthier) at our Cordova, Rock Island County location. If you're skilled in guitar repair, setup, and restoration, and passionate about helping musicians get their instruments playing at their best, this is your opportunity to join our team.

Role Overview

As a Guitar Technician (Luthier) with Guitar Center in Cordova, you'll be at the heart of our service operations, handling everything from instrument setup and adjustment to repair and restoration work. This hands-on role combines technical skill with customer service, ensuring every guitar that leaves our shop is ready to inspire. You'll work with a diverse range of instruments and customer needs, from routine maintenance to specialized luthier work.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair guitar and bass instruments, including structural, electronic, and cosmetic issues
• Perform professional setups, intonation adjustments, and fret leveling
• Execute restoration work including refinishing, hardware replacement, and component upgrades
• Provide technical consultation to customers about instrument maintenance and repair options
• Maintain detailed work logs and ensure all repairs meet quality standards
• Stay current with luthier techniques and instrument technology

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a guitar technician, luthier, or instrument repair specialist
• Advanced knowledge of guitar construction, electronics, and setup procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Excellent communication skills to consult with customers
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair projects
• Passion for music and guitars (musician experience is a plus)
