About the Role
You'll work hands-on in our repair shop, diagnosing and restoring acoustic and electric guitars, basses, and other stringed instruments. Every repair combines technical precision with your knowledge of instrument construction, ensuring musicians receive instruments that sound and play their best.
What You'll Do
- Repair, restore, and refinish guitars and stringed instruments using hand tools and specialized luthier equipment
- Perform setup work, fretwork, intonation adjustments, and hardware repairs
- Address structural damage, electronics issues, and custom modifications
- Assess instrument conditions, document repair needs, and advise customers on solutions
- Maintain organized workspace and repair parts inventory
- Collaborate with the Guitar Center team to meet customer timelines and satisfaction
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a luthier, guitar repair technician, or instrument builder
- Expert understanding of guitar and stringed instrument construction and hardware
- Mastery of hand tools, power equipment, and luthier-specific techniques
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving approach
- Clear communication and customer-focused mindset
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications welcome
