Structural Engineer

GFT is hiring a full-time Structural Engineer at our Greeley Square office in Manhattan to strengthen our Building and Places Group. What This Role Involves

As a Structural Engineer with GFT, you'll develop and refine structural systems that integrate efficiency and sustainability into every stage of design and delivery. You'll work alongside an experienced team committed to solving complex structural challenges through innovative design, rigorous analysis, and practical engineering solutions that serve real-world needs across diverse project types.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Develop structural design concepts and preliminary calculations for building systems and components
• Perform structural analysis and modeling using industry-standard software and methods
• Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications
• Review designs and calculations for accuracy, code compliance, and constructability
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to integrate structural solutions seamlessly
• Ensure all work meets applicable building codes, standards, and sustainability objectives

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or demonstrated progress toward licensure
• Hands-on experience in structural design and analysis for building systems
• Proficiency with structural analysis software and CAD platforms
• Strong knowledge of building codes and structural engineering principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
