About This Position
We're seeking an experienced Head Coach to guide our 7th grade volleyball program at Central Intermediate School within Central School District 51. This full-time role combines athletic instruction with mentorship, creating a foundation for young athletes to develop skills, confidence, and a genuine love for the sport. The position carries a coaching stipend of $2,588.
Core Duties
- Direct all training, skill development, and competitive play for 7th grade volleyball athletes
- Create detailed practice plans grounded in volleyball fundamentals and progressive skill-building
- Teach proper technique, game strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship to student-athletes
- Oversee roster management, tryouts, and athletic eligibility compliance
- Lead conditioning and tactical preparation for inter-school competition
- Build a positive, welcoming team culture that prioritizes athlete safety and personal growth
What You Bring
- Documented experience successfully coaching volleyball at the middle school level or similar setting
- Comprehensive understanding of volleyball's technical skills, rules, and contemporary coaching practices
- Demonstrated openness to evolving your coaching approach and integrating new methods and research into your program
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities to connect with student-athletes, families, and colleagues
- State-required coaching certifications or athletic credentials
