Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Republic Services is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations in Charleston, Charleston County. In this full-time position, you'll oversee a skilled team of maintenance technicians and ensure our waste management fleet operates with maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency.

Position Summary

As Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you'll manage the maintenance shop under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, serving as the primary leader for a team of technicians. Your core responsibilities center on preventive maintenance and repair of our operational fleet, along with the machinery and equipment that supports our post-collection facility. You'll balance hands-on technical oversight with strategic shop management to keep all assets mission-ready and compliant.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a maintenance technician team performing preventive maintenance and fleet repairs
• Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime and operational disruptions
• Oversee repair and servicing of post-collection facility machinery and support equipment
• Enforce safety protocols and quality standards across all maintenance operations
• Monitor shop performance, maintenance metrics, and equipment utilization
• Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and compliance documentation
• Communicate with operations leadership on fleet readiness and maintenance requirements

What We're Looking For

• Proven supervisory experience managing maintenance teams or fleet operations
• Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, equipment servicing, and preventive maintenance best practices
• Technical background in automotive or equipment maintenance; hands-on mechanical experience valued
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
