Experienced Landscape Architect/Designer – Recreation Focus

Hitchcock Design Group seeks an experienced Landscape Architect/Designer with a focus on recreation to join our team in Naperville, DuPage County. This is a full-time position with a dynamic firm dedicated to creating innovative outdoor spaces that strengthen communities.

The Opportunity

Lead the design and planning of recreational landscape projects that engage communities and enhance quality of life. You'll work collaboratively with clients, municipalities, and internal teams to develop sustainable, creative outdoor environments. Your Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive landscape design concepts for recreational facilities, parks, and community gathering spaces
• Prepare site plans, master plans, and detailed design drawings using industry-standard CAD and visualization software
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies to inform design recommendations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and planners to integrate landscape solutions
• Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback into project refinements
• Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards, environmental regulations, and local land use requirements
• Manage project schedules and deliverables within established scope and timeline

Who We're Looking For

• Landscape Architecture degree or equivalent professional experience in the field
• State licensure (LA or RLA) or demonstrated progress toward obtaining licensure
• Proven expertise in recreational space design and community park development
• Strong command of AutoCAD, GIS, and digital design tools
• Excellent communication and client presentation abilities
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and environmental stewardship
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to balance creative vision and practical constraints
