The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. (WSFSSH) is seeking a dedicated, full-time Property Manager for Independence House in New York City, New York. This is your opportunity to lead the day-to-day operations of supportive housing that helps older and low-income residents live with dignity and independence.
About the Role
As the Property Manager for Independence House, you will oversee the daily management of a residential community in New York City. Working on-site alongside supportive services staff, you will ensure the building is safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for every resident who calls it home.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the overall operation, upkeep, and administration of the Independence House property.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and vendor relationships to keep the building safe and in good condition.
- Manage occupancy, leasing, rent collection, and resident records in line with applicable housing regulations.
- Partner with on-site supportive services teams to promote the wellbeing and independence of low-income and older residents.
- Maintain accurate financial, compliance, and reporting documentation for the property.
- Respond promptly and compassionately to resident concerns and community needs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in property or residential building management, ideally within affordable or supportive housing.
- Working knowledge of housing compliance, leasing procedures, and building operations.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to serving senior and low-income residents.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in New York City, New York.
