About This Position

As a Medical Billing Specialist at Concentra, you'll manage the revenue cycle by processing, coding, and submitting patient claims to insurance carriers and government payers. You'll handle claim follow-ups, denial management, payment posting, and patient billing inquiries. Your work ensures our clinics operate efficiently while patients receive accurate, transparent billing. You'll work in a professional healthcare environment where precision and compliance directly impact both operations and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes for billing purposes
• Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and authorization requirements prior to service delivery
• Submit insurance claims electronically and monitor claim status for timely processing
• Follow up on denied or rejected claims and resubmit with corrections or additional documentation
• Post payments from insurance companies and patients to appropriate accounts
• Generate patient statements, billing reports, and respond to billing inquiries
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies requiring correction

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical billing certification or relevant coding experience preferred
• Proficiency with medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office
• Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, healthcare insurance, and coding compliance
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple claims and priorities
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all billing work
• Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative teams
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with integrity and discretion
