DevOps & Release Engineering Manager

Robert Half is hiring a DevOps & Release Engineering Manager in West Enola, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania to build and oversee a modern release engineering function. In this full-time role, you'll balance strategic platform leadership with hands-on technical execution, driving reliable software delivery across cloud and hybrid infrastructure.

What This Role Involves

You'll lead release engineering and DevOps practices that span the entire software delivery pipeline. Your dual responsibilities include team management and direct participation in engineering work—designing CI/CD systems, optimizing deployment workflows, and ensuring production stability. This position sits at the intersection of infrastructure strategy and operational reliability, making you accountable for both the team's growth and the systems they build. You'll work across cloud platforms and on-premises environments, setting the standards and practices that enable faster, safer releases.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing DevOps and Release Engineering team
• Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation frameworks
• Manage release scheduling, coordination, and production deployment execution
• Develop infrastructure and platform strategies for hybrid cloud environments
• Establish release processes, monitoring, and incident response protocols
• Partner with engineering, operations, and product teams on delivery timelines and technical roadmaps
• Eliminate deployment bottlenecks and improve software delivery speed and reliability
• Champion infrastructure-as-code practices and automation standards across teams

Who We're Looking For

• Experience managing or leading DevOps, Release Engineering, or SRE teams
• Hands-on expertise with CI/CD platforms, automation tools, and deployment orchestration
• Working knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid infrastructure models
• Proficiency with containerization, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and related technologies
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities
• Track record troubleshooting complex deployment, infrastructure, and reliability challenges
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional background
