About the Role

This position combines technical fieldwork with precise documentation to identify and manage environmental hazards in buildings scheduled for renovation or demolition. You'll work directly with facilities, project managers, and environmental consultants to ensure thorough hazard assessment and compliance throughout the building lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct on-site sampling and inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCB materials, and radon levels in buildings and structures
  • Prepare and maintain detailed field notes, chain-of-custody documentation, and inspection reports
  • Operate sampling equipment and monitoring instruments following established protocols
  • Coordinate sample collection, preservation, and delivery to certified laboratories
  • Assist with data analysis and report generation for environmental assessments
  • Support facility renovation and demolition projects by identifying and documenting hazardous materials
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards to protect personnel and ensure result accuracy
  • Maintain compliance with EPA, state, and local environmental regulations

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED; technical training in environmental science or industrial hygiene preferred
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials identification and indoor air quality assessment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and at heights when necessary
  • Strong attention to detail in field sampling, measurement, and documentation
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to obtain EPA RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) certification or asbestos-related certifications as required
