Okta is hiring a Vice President of Strategic Events, Experiences & Customer Marketing to lead innovative engagement initiatives in San Francisco, California. This is a full-time leadership role where you'll shape how enterprises interact with our platform and build lasting customer relationships through best-in-class experiences.

About the Role

As Vice President of Strategic Events, Experiences & Customer Marketing at Okta, you'll own the strategy and execution of high-impact customer-facing programs and experiential initiatives. You'll lead a team driving customer engagement, community development, and integrated marketing campaigns that accelerate adoption and deepen relationships with our enterprise customers. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive events and experiences strategy that drives customer acquisition, retention, and expansion
  • Lead cross-functional teams including event managers, creative professionals, and customer marketers to deliver world-class customer programs and activations
  • Conceptualize, plan, and oversee major customer conferences, regional events, executive summits, and virtual experiences that showcase Okta's platform and build community
  • Design customer engagement experiences and content initiatives that support the entire customer lifecycle and marketing funnel
  • Manage budgets, forecast ROI, and optimize programs based on performance metrics and customer feedback
  • Collaborate with product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure events and initiatives align with business priorities and customer needs
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships that enhance the value and reach of customer programs
  • Establish thought leadership positioning and create engaging content experiences that reinforce Okta's market authority

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in event strategy, customer marketing, customer experience, or related B2B marketing leadership roles
  • Demonstrated success leading and scaling teams in marketing, events, or customer engagement functions
  • Proven track record conceiving and executing large-scale, strategic customer events and programs that drive measurable business impact
  • Expert knowledge of event operations, logistics, budget management, and ROI analysis
  • Strong understanding of modern customer marketing, digital engagement, and experiential activation strategies
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strategic thinker who balances big-picture vision with operational excellence and attention to detail
  • Experience in the enterprise software, identity, or security technology space is a plus
