Teacher – Music (grades K-5) 50% FTE

Join Hilliard City School District as an Elementary Music Teacher serving grades K–5 at Avery Elementary School. This part-time 50% FTE position invites you to inspire young musicians and foster a lifelong love of music across a diverse elementary student population.

About the Role

You'll teach music to kindergarten through fifth-grade students on a 184-day annual calendar. This position focuses on building foundational music literacy, performance confidence, listening skills, and cultural appreciation through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction. You'll work collaboratively within the elementary school community to make music accessible and meaningful for all learners.

What You'll Do

• Deliver comprehensive music instruction aligned with K–5 curriculum standards and district goals
• Lead singing, rhythm exploration, and music-reading activities with kindergarten through fifth-grade classes
• Teach music theory, listening skills, and basic instrumental and vocal techniques
• Plan and direct school concerts, performances, and seasonal musical celebrations
• Integrate music across subject areas in partnership with classroom teachers
• Assess student learning and communicate musical progress to families and colleagues
• Create inclusive, supportive music experiences where every student can explore their musicality

What We're Looking For

• Current music teaching licensure from the Ohio Department of Education
• Strong command of K–5 music curriculum and instructional practices
• Proficiency with piano or voice and experience leading ensemble activities
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
• Passion for developing young musicians and nurturing musical growth in elementary-age students
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to school culture and student success
