MEP Superintendent, NC

Insight Global is hiring a full-time MEP Superintendent to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems coordination on a major life sciences construction project in Portola Valley, San Mateo County. This on-site leadership role oversees complex building systems delivery from planning through commissioning.

About the Role

As MEP Superintendent, you'll serve as the primary coordination lead for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and commissioning activities on a large-scale life sciences facility. Your focus will be ensuring that these integrated building systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to specifications and project timelines. You'll work directly with trades, engineers, inspectors, and the broader project team to solve problems in real time and maintain momentum toward completion.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily MEP construction activities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls installation
• Coordinate between MEP subcontractors, general contractor teams, and consulting engineers to align sequencing with overall project schedule
• Manage commissioning and startup of building systems to ensure performance specifications are met
• Conduct inspections, track progress, and document quality assurance for all MEP trades
• Troubleshoot conflicts and coordination challenges between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the field
• Maintain accurate records, schedules, and communication logs for all MEP scope
• Support safety compliance and site-wide coordination efforts

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an MEP Superintendent on complex commercial or industrial construction projects
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems coordination
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage multiple trades and vendors
• Familiarity with building codes, ADA requirements, and industry commissioning standards
• Experience with construction documentation, scheduling software, and project management tools
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work on-site in the San Mateo County area
