Tool & Die Group Leader – Marion Stamping

General Motors seeks an experienced Tool & Die Group Leader to lead operations at our Marion Stamping facility in Jonesboro, Grant County. This is a full-time leadership position driving production excellence, team performance, and precision manufacturing standards.

About the Role

As Tool & Die Group Leader at Marion Stamping, you'll oversee a team of skilled toolmakers and die specialists, ensuring they deliver precision-engineered stamping dies and associated tooling. You'll serve as the operational backbone of our metal stamping operations, responsible for mentoring technicians, meeting production deadlines, and maintaining the highest quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of tool and die makers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Monitor tooling production schedules, identifying bottlenecks and adjusting workflows to meet commitments
• Conduct quality inspections of completed dies and tooling to ensure conformance to GM specifications
• Troubleshoot design and production issues, collaborating with engineering teams to implement solutions
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and enforce compliance with manufacturing standards and safety protocols
• Track tooling inventory, manage preventive maintenance, and recommend equipment upgrades

Who We're Looking For

• Extensive hands-on experience in tool and die manufacturing or precision stamping operations
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams in a manufacturing setting
• Strong knowledge of die design, tool maintenance, stamping processes, and quality control standards
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet production goals
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous process improvement
