Dock Worker/Forklift Operator – Part Time PM Shift

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Dock Worker/Forklift Operator - Part Time PM Shift for its Hansen Road, Brown County facility, a full‑time position that supports the company’s logistics operations during evening hours.

About the Role

This role combines dock handling duties with forklift operation to keep freight moving safely and efficiently. You will work as part of a dedicated team that loads, unloads, and stages shipments while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

What You'll Do

• Load and unload trailers using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts
• Inspect incoming and outgoing freight for damage or discrepancies
• Stage pallets and packages according to destination and delivery schedules
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any maintenance needs
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and traffic rules
• Assist with inventory control and accurate documentation of shipments
• Collaborate with drivers, supervisors, and warehouse staff to meet shift goals

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating forklifts and handling dock equipment in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to read work orders, labels, and shipping documents accurately
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Good physical stamina for lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy items
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work the PM shift schedule
• Effective communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; certification in forklift operation a plus
