Shaffer Trucking is hiring full‑time CDL‑A Company Drivers for its Sugar Land, Fort Bend County terminal.
About the Role
As a CDL‑A truck driver you will operate long‑haul and regional routes, delivering freight safely and on time while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations.
What You'll Do
- Operate tractor‑trailer equipment assigned to dedicated or over‑the‑road lanes
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and complete required paperwork
- Plan routes to maximize fuel efficiency and meet delivery windows
- Communicate with dispatch and customers to provide status updates
- Adhere to safety policies and participate in ongoing training programs
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL‑A license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of six months verifiable OTR experience (or equivalent)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
- Willingness to be away from home for extended periods as required by the schedule
