About the Role
As a CDL A driver you will operate tractor‑trailer rigs on scheduled routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to grocery stores, restaurants, and foodservice locations. The position is full‑time and based out of the Hyde Park facility, with regular home‑time built into the schedule.
What You'll Do
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations
- Load and unload freight using pallet jacks, hand carts, or lift gates as needed
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting during transit
- Follow planned routes while adjusting for traffic, weather, or delivery windows
- Maintain accurate logs of hours of service, mileage, and vehicle inspections
- Communicate professionally with warehouse staff, customers, and dispatch
- Complete basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure
- Adhere to all company safety policies and federal transportation laws
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
- Experience with manual or automatic transmissions preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good physical stamina for frequent loading, unloading, and occasional lifting
- Effective communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts
