About the Role
This full‑time position partners with the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance to design and oversee community‑focused programs that accompany high‑profile events such as the Super Bowl and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four. The director reports to the Head of Operations and Social Responsibility and guides a team whose size will be defined collaboratively.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute social responsibility strategies that align with Alliance event goals
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteer workforces for large‑scale Arizona events
- Build relationships with nonprofit partners, corporate sponsors, and local stakeholders
- Monitor program performance, track volunteer hours, and report outcomes to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and uphold the organization’s ethical standards
- Coordinate logistics for volunteer schedules, assignments, and recognition activities
- Support crisis communication planning related to community engagement aspects of events
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience directing social responsibility, community outreach, or volunteer programs
- Strong background in event management, preferably within sports or large‑scale gatherings
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse internal and external groups
- Ability to develop measurable objectives and analyze data to drive improvement
- Familiarity with Arizona’s nonprofit landscape and corporate citizenship practices
- Effective project management capabilities, including budget oversight and timeline adherence
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus
