Join KIPP Colorado as a High School Biology Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time position at KIPP Denver Collegiate in Denver, Colorado, where you will lead biology instruction for students preparing for college and beyond.
About the Role
You are the instructional leader of your classroom, directly responsible for designing student learning outcomes and fostering an exceptional educational experience. You will create science instruction that is academically rigorous, actively engaging, and grounded in the lived experiences and strengths of your students. Your work will prepare them for post-secondary success and equip them with the scientific thinking skills they need for college and careers.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver comprehensive high school biology curriculum rooted in standards and inquiry-based learning
- Teach biology concepts through hands-on labs, experiments, and real-world applications that deepen student understanding
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Build classroom culture that is affirming, inclusive, and focused on student agency and growth
- Develop strong relationships with students and families to support academic and personal development
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to KIPP Denver Collegiate's college-preparatory mission
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or related field
- Colorado teaching certification or eligibility in high school biology
- Experience teaching biology at the secondary level
- Skill in creating affirming, culturally-responsive learning environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Commitment to continuous growth and collaborative work with school teams
