Lucas Tree Experts is hiring Arborist Trainees and Climbers for full-time positions in Yarmouth, Maine, where you'll gain hands-on training in professional tree care while supporting critical utility infrastructure. About the Role

This position places you on transmission line maintenance crews responsible for off-road vegetation management across utility rights-of-way in Cumberland County and surrounding regions. You'll work directly on power grid protection through proper tree removal, trimming, and right-of-way maintenance while learning every aspect of professional arboriculture under experienced mentorship. The role combines physical work at heights with structured training toward full arborist certification and climbing expertise.

What You'll Do

• Climb and work safely at heights to assess, remove, and trim trees and vegetation protecting transmission lines
• Learn rigging techniques, cutting procedures, and professional climbing practices
• Operate hand tools and power equipment under supervision to manage utility corridors
• Work as part of a crew team to maintain transmission right-of-ways and prevent outages
• Follow all OSHA safety standards, company protocols, and regulatory requirements
• Progress toward industry certifications and specialized competencies
