Join U.S. Xpress as a CDL-A company driver and run over-the-road hauls throughout the U.S. based from our Nelsonville location in Athens County. We're seeking CDL-A drivers with 1-5 months of experience to join our OTR dry van fleet and earn competitive weekly pay.
About the Role
As a CDL-A company driver with U.S. Xpress, you'll operate a dry van truck hauling freight across the country. This is a full-time, over-the-road position with a consistent schedule that keeps you moving and earning.
What You'll Do
- Operate a commercial dry van truck on interstate and highway routes
- Complete vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations
- Haul freight loads safely and efficiently to their destinations
- Maintain accurate logbooks and Hours of Service compliance
- Coordinate with dispatch for load assignments and delivery confirmations
- Average 2,000 miles per week in productive driving
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 1-5 months of OTR or company driving experience
- Current medical certification and ability to pass DOT physical examination
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Professional attitude and reliable work ethic
Compensation & Benefits
U.S. Xpress offers competitive compensation structured at 57 to 64 cents per mile, depending on your driving experience and qualifications. Weekly earnings range from a guaranteed minimum of $1,500 to $1,700 for top-performing drivers in our fleet. Qualified new hires receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus to get started. Team driving opportunities are available with additional sign-on bonuses and favorable mileage-split arrangements.
