Manchester Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department in Hampden. About the Role
As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse at Manchester Memorial Hospital, you'll be at the center of acute patient care, using your clinical judgment and specialized knowledge to assess, stabilize, and treat patients with diverse and often urgent medical conditions. You'll work in a dynamic environment where every decision and intervention matters, collaborating with physicians, specialists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive emergency care.
What You'll Do
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage to prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments under physician orders
- Monitor vital signs and patient response to interventions, responding quickly to changes in condition
- Perform emergency nursing procedures including wound care, specimen collection, and equipment management
- Communicate clearly with patients and families during high-stress situations, providing reassurance and clinical education
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and execute treatment plans
- Maintain a safe, clean emergency environment and ensure infection control standards
What We're Looking For
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, unpredictable clinical environment
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice and continuous learning
- Physical and emotional stamina for a demanding role
