Better Together is hiring a full-time Family Support Manager in Kissimmee, Florida, to lead crisis intervention and family stabilization efforts through our Better Families Program serving Central Florida. About the Role
As a Family Support Manager, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for families navigating crisis situations across our Better Families Program. Operating in Hardee, Highlands, Orange, Osceola, Polk, and Seminole Counties, you'll combine direct support with case management to help families access resources, stabilize their circumstances, and build sustainable futures. This is hands-on work—you'll be evaluating family needs, coordinating services, and serving as a steady presence during some of your community's most critical moments.
What You'll Do
- Conduct thorough family assessments to understand immediate crises and underlying challenges
- Develop individualized support plans addressing housing, food security, mental health, employment, and other stability factors
- Connect families with local and regional social services, benefits programs, and community resources
- Maintain regular contact with enrolled families, monitoring progress and adjusting support as needs evolve
- Document case notes and outcomes to track family progress and program effectiveness
- Collaborate with partner organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and local agencies
- Advocate on behalf of families within systems and agencies
What We're Looking For
- Must be a resident of Osceola County
- Demonstrated experience working with families, crisis intervention, social services, or community support
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills—you listen well and earn trust
- Ability to navigate complex systems and coordinate multiple services simultaneously
- Compassion without burnout; ability to maintain professional boundaries while staying committed
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel across our service area
- Problem-solving mindset and resourcefulness in under-resourced contexts
