Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist – Holloman AFB, NM

Magellan Health is seeking a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist to join our team in Alamogordo, Otero County, serving Federal government and military personnel at Holloman Air Force Base. In this full-time role, you'll design and implement specialized physical conditioning programs that enhance performance, support wellness, and prevent injuries across our client population.

About the Role

As a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with Magellan Health, you'll partner directly with military and Federal personnel to develop tailored conditioning programs aligned with their occupational demands and fitness objectives. This position emphasizes evidence-based training methodologies, injury prevention, and sustained physical wellness.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver physical conditioning programs customized to job-specific performance requirements
• Coach and mentor military and Federal personnel on proper technique, program progression, and training principles
• Collaborate with medical staff, athletic trainers, and command leadership to align conditioning goals with organizational priorities
• Monitor participant progress, track outcomes, and adjust programs based on performance data and feedback
• Support injury prevention and recovery through evidence-based conditioning strategies
• Maintain comprehensive records of participant participation, progress, and program modifications
• Contribute to a culture of wellness and sustainable fitness within the military community

What We're Looking For

• Current CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) credential or equivalent professional certification
• Experience coaching or training military, athletic, or occupational fitness populations
• Strong knowledge of exercise science, biomechanics, and injury prevention
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse team environments
• Ability to design individualized training programs based on functional assessment and performance goals
• Commitment to professional development and evidence-based training practices
• Professional approach and ability to work effectively with medical and leadership teams
