Join Garland Independent School District as an Emergent Bilingual Instructional Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position provides classroom support and targeted English language instruction to multilingual learners across our campuses.
About the Role
As an Emergent Bilingual Instructional Aide, you'll partner with classroom teachers to deliver focused support for students developing English proficiency. You'll create an inclusive learning environment where bilingual and multilingual students build academic skills while advancing their English language abilities.
What You'll Do
- Assist teachers with small-group and individual instruction for emergent bilingual students
- Support English language development across content areas and grade levels
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and school personnel
- Reinforce classroom lessons and help students complete assigned work
- Monitor and document student progress in language acquisition
- Help develop and adapt learning materials that reflect students' cultures and languages
- Model language skills and support literacy development in English and students' native languages
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 48 completed semester hours of college credit, an Associate's Degree, or ability to pass a rigorous content assessment
- Fluency in English and another language, or commitment to developing bilingual capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to supporting diverse learners and language development
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and school teams
- Dependability and flexibility in an educational setting
Position Details
Full-time position, 186-day annual schedule aligned with the school year. You'll work at a district campus. Pay is based on Garland Independent School District's established instructional aide compensation schedule.
