About the Role
As Assistant Store Manager, you'll partner with the Store Manager to ensure our Mitchell location runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. You'll take on key operational responsibilities, lead a team of store associates, and represent Dollar General's values in everything you do.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Supervise, train, and develop store associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and merchandise displays to maximize sales
- Handle cash management, register operations, and financial accuracy
- Support sales goals and promotional initiatives across all departments
- Maintain store safety, security, and loss prevention standards
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally
- Assist with hiring and performance management of store staff
What We're Looking For
- Retail or customer service experience, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to manage competing priorities
- Communication and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a team
- Reliability and availability to support store hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Basic math and cash handling proficiency
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Ability to learn point-of-sale systems and store management practices
