Head Coach Men’s & Women’s Track & Field

Florida National University seeks an accomplished Head Coach for Men's & Women's Track & Field at our Hialeah Gardens campus in Miami-Dade County. This full-time position leads our track and field program, developing student-athletes both athletically and academically while representing FNU in regional and national competition.

About the Role

As Head Coach, you will build and sustain a competitive track and field program that attracts talented student-athletes to Florida National University. You'll manage all aspects of recruiting, training, competition, and student-athlete development across men's and women's teams.

What You'll Do

• Recruit qualified student-athletes and build roster depth across distance running, sprints, hurdles, jumps, and throws
• Design and implement comprehensive training programs aligned with sport science principles and NCAA standards
• Prepare teams for conference, regional, and national competitions
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and ensure compliance with athletic eligibility requirements
• Develop team culture emphasizing discipline, excellence, and sportsmanship
• Manage program budget, equipment, travel logistics, and facility scheduling
• Maintain records, statistics, and performance metrics for program evaluation
• Represent Florida National University at athletic conferences and community events

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience coaching track and field at the collegiate or elite amateur level
• Knowledge of event-specific training methodologies and athlete development progressions
• Strong recruiting and communication skills to engage student-athletes and families
• Commitment to NCAA compliance and student-athlete welfare
• Leadership ability to inspire and manage both men's and women's teams
• Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred); previous coaching credentials valued
