About the Role
You'll work as a registered nurse on UNC Medical Center's Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, caring for adult patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplants for hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and metabolic disorders. This position is designed for new graduates ready to grow in a specialized setting with structured mentorship and exposure to evidence-based transplant nursing practices.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct bedside care for adult transplant patients, focusing on assessment, monitoring, and symptom management
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support complex medical interventions
- Monitor for transplant complications and support patients through high-risk phases of treatment
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, nutritionists, and other specialists to coordinate holistic patient care
- Educate patients and families about their transplant journey and recovery milestones
- Document clinical observations and patient responses accurately in the medical record
- Work within a team-based environment that values learning, safety, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- Current RN license
- BSN or ADN degree from an accredited nursing program
- Strong clinical foundation with attention to detail and patient safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
