About the Role

Capital One is seeking an experienced data scientist to drive strategic and analytical work for our Credit Line Increase Program. You'll develop predictive models and conduct data-driven analyses that inform product decisions, working with large-scale financial datasets and modern analytics infrastructure. This position offers the chance to solve complex problems at the intersection of machine learning, risk management, and customer experience.

What You'll Do

• Build and validate predictive models to identify customers eligible for credit line increases using statistical methods and machine learning
• Design and execute analytical experiments to measure program effectiveness and customer impact
• Collaborate with product, risk, operations, and marketing teams to translate data insights into business recommendations
• Develop data pipelines and automated reporting systems to support program monitoring and continuous optimization
• Present technical findings and methodology to stakeholders at all levels across the organization
• Contribute to advancement of analytical capabilities and data infrastructure supporting credit decisions

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or Economics—or equivalent professional experience demonstrating comparable expertise
• Demonstrated proficiency in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, SQL, or similar languages for data analysis and manipulation
• Deep understanding of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and model validation methodologies
• Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing frameworks
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
• Track record of independently managing complex analytical projects from conception through delivery
