CDL-A Company Driver – OTR – Dry Van

Join U.S. Xpress - OTR as a full-time CDL-A company driver operating out of Fairfield. About the Role

This full-time CDL-A driver opportunity focuses on over-the-road dry van operations. You'll handle long-haul routes averaging 2,000 miles per week, with the flexibility to work solo or as part of a two-driver team. U.S. Xpress prioritizes driver stability through guaranteed minimum weekly pay and performance-based earnings.

What You'll Do

• Execute safe, timely deliveries nationwide in assigned dry van equipment
• Comply with all FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols
• Coordinate with dispatch on routing and load assignments
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain professional communication with shippers and receivers

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL-A license with clean driving history
• Minimum 1–5 months of commercial truck driving experience
• Passing medical certification and background check
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
• Ability to run OTR schedules (typically 12 days out, 2 days home)

Compensation & Benefits

Solo drivers earn 57–64 cents per mile based on experience. You'll receive a guaranteed weekly minimum of $1,500 under our standard 12-out/2-home schedule, with our highest-performing drivers reaching $1,650 per week. New hires receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus. If you prefer team driving, we offer a $5,000 combined sign-on bonus (split between partners), 72–80 cents per mile split pay, and approximately 5,000 miles weekly.
